Cucumber on a net.
By its nature, the cucumber is a vine. It loves space and sun. Usually, those who grow cucumbers create a special trellis out of twine or wire, along which the cucumber vines climb. Others simply drive stakes into the ground among the cucumber plants, which the plants cling to as they grow. If none of this is done, the vines, as they grow, lie on top of each other and get tangled. Harvesting and caring for such plants can be very difficult. Recently, many gardeners have found a simple and original way out of how to create comfortable conditions for both the plant and themselves. To do this, a nylon (like a volleyball) or wire mesh is stretched vertically on stakes along the rows of cucumber plants. As they grow, the plants cling to the mesh cells with their vines and thus create a green vertical carpet. At the same time, all the leaves of the plants receive enough light, are well ventilated, and are less affected by powdery mildew. And most importantly: when harvesting fruits, the vines do not break. Fruits are easy and convenient to collect, and the yield is several times higher than with the usual ground placement. Plants on the net bear fruit for 2-3 weeks longer, which is also important.
